After the joyous birth of their daughter, Arielle, on February 10, Katy Hayes experienced intense pain, went to the local hospital and developed a serious infection. She found herself battling for her life after a series of complications resulting from a Streptococcal A infection. She underwent much trauma then surgery to remove organs and necrotic tissue in Kingwood. When she was stable enough to be moved, she was flown to the Parkland Memorial Hospital ICU in Dallas for further treatment where her arms and legs were amputated to save her life.
Family and friends can check on Katy’s condition here as well as offer support and love. Her husband, Al, tries to post her status as often as he can (almost daily).
Please keep Katy and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
