As is par for the course, Kingwood Medical Center is a thorn in our side. Katy was recently admitted with kidney stones, had a stint put in place, antibiotics, etc, and now Kingwood doesn’t want to remove the stones or the stint without charging us $11,000 (which is more than they charged for her ostomy reversal in December) in advance. I truly cannot wait to not deal with this hospital again. Unfortunately, they are so close to us that we sometimes have no choice.
On the first day of Katy’s last stay I told them that her blood pressure was not right, and that every time I see those numbers something is wrong. They ignored me. I raised a rucus, and they asked what I wanted. I said that every time we go to KMC, they do a horrible job of taking care of Katy, don’t listen to about her vitals, and, usually after 3-4 days, something really bad happens, and then they run in apologizing and saying how sorry they are. I told them that we usually spend 3-4 extra days in the hospital every time than we need to. They assured me it wouldn’t happen, and then, of course, it did. Katy kept having a fever after she was showing clear test results, I said that usually is a sign of sepsis, and a hidden infection. They didn;t listen until I pushed, and then they find the kidney stones. Now, after all of that, they don’t want to finish the job, and they still haven’t sent the test results to Boston as we, and Boston, have requested many times. Anyone know a good malpractice attorney?
In spite of all of this, Katy has kept a positive attitude, and a smiling face. We keep edging towards our goal, and still plan on being in New England in early July.
Thank you all for your continued support. We couldn’t do this without all of you.
